Brendan Kantilla has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Bangladeshi man Md Isfaqur Rahman in May 2023, after being found guilty by an NT Supreme Court jury. 

In handing down the sentence, Justice Sonia Brownhill referenced emotional victim impact statements from Mr Rahman's family, including his father, uncle and cousin.

What's next?

Kantilla will be eligible for parole from 2043, with his mandatory 20-year non-parole period backdated to when he was first taken into custody.
