Canberra man jailed over violent road rage incidents, fined for performing Nazi salute outside synagogue

A Canberra man has been jailed over a string of road rage attacks, and fined for performing a Nazi salute outside a synagogue.
Michigan Addison Bullock, 26, was sentenced to three years and nine months in jail today for 10 offences, which include reckless driving and assault.
The ACT Magistrate's Court heard that between October 2024 and February 2025, Bullock deliberately rammed other vehicles, caused collisions and acted aggressively while driving around Canberra.
On several occasions he rammed vehicles, causing them to lose control, either spinning off the road or into the way of oncoming traffic.
In dash-cam footage Bullock was seen ramming a ute, before climbing into its tray, breaking the rear window and kicking the driver repeatedly.
Magistrate James Lawton said the road rage attacks were committed "for trivial reasons".
The court also heard about a separate incident in 2023, in which Bullock assaulted a neighbour and filmed the attack.
Bullock distributed footage of the attack to "boost his ego", and he admitted in court to being "sort of immature".
Magistrate Lawton said Bullock's actions were "brutal, and to a certain extent, unprovoked and shocking".

During a previous court appearance Bullock read a letter of apology to the court, where he said he had reflected on his offending.
Magistrate Lawton also noted that Bullock had spent 12 months in custody awaiting sentencing, and had taken advantage of that by participating in a number of courses and exploring his faith.
Nevertheless, Bullock was sentenced to three years and nine months jail for the driving and assault offences.
With a non-parole period of 15 months, backdated to January this year, he will be eligible for release in April next year.
Nazi salute image found amid investigation
While investigating Bullock's driving offences, police located an image stored on his phone of him performing a Nazi salute in public view outside a synagogue in Queensland in October 2024.
Magistrate Lawton said the image formed the basis of a separate charge, describing it as "blatant disrespect for a religion", and ruled it to be an aggravating factor in sentencing.
Bullock was fined $10,000 for the religious vilification offence, but the court deemed the fine already paid due to time served in custody.
