Program: Meet the daring Aussie farmer who invented spreadable butter

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

The 1970s was an era of disco music, bell-bottom pants, and unspreadable butter.

As margarine began to dominate supermarkets, a small diary farm on the NSW South Coast set out to change that by combining ingredients that could have seen them up on criminal charges.

Half a century later, Geoff Boxsell has been honoured for his invention with the University of Sydney's 2025 Dairy Science Award.

  • Guest: Geoff Boxsell, dairy farmer
  • Producer: Jason Whittaker
