In short:

A South Australian health research institute is suing a technology company over a collapsed project involving a proposed proton therapy unit that would have helped 700 cancer patients annually.

While SAHMRI says it is unable to comment on the ongoing court case, the technology firm says it can still deliver on the project if the contract is revived.

What's next?

The case returns to court on December 16 and is likely to take some time to resolve.
