Bananas on the ground

Program: Cyclone Fina deals a blow to the NT's largest banana farm

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

The Northern Territory's largest banana farm lost about 40 per cent of its fruit during Tropical Cyclone Fina on the weekend.

The farm at Lambells Lagoon normally supplies almost 100 per cent of the Top End's banana needs.

Farm manager Mark Smith says the NT will need to import bananas from Queensland for a few months, until his farm can get back to full production.
