NDIS cuts Deaf man's Auslan funding, recommends he explore 'other communication methods'

In short:

A 40-year-old man who was born Deaf is worried he will become further isolated after his NDIS funding for Auslan interpreters was cut in half.  

The agency that runs the NDIS also recommended he pursue therapy to develop "other communication methods".  

Advocates say there is a poor understanding of Deafness among NDIS planners.
