Driver dies after two-vehicle collision near Allendale, north of Ballarat

A driver has died in a two-vehicle collision north of the regional Victorian city of Ballarat.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of West Berry Road and Lone Hand Road at Allendale following reports of two vehicles colliding at about 11:30am on Wednesday morning.

Victorian police said the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene and is yet to be identified.

The driver's passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A man in his 60s, who was driving the second vehicle, was not injured and police said he was currently assisting with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit will be investigating the circumstances around the crash.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam vision, to contact Crime Stoppers.
