In short:

More than 10,000 children in Indonesia have fallen ill with food poisoning after eating meals provided in a free school lunches program.

The food poisonings have been blamed on improper ingredients and storage, poor sanitation, poor water quality, and slow meal distribution times.

What's next?

The Indonesian government has issued food safety guidance to kitchens, but intends to continue expanding the multi-billion-dollar program.
