In short:

Ahead of South Australia's bushfire season, the Country Fire Service's air operations teams are clearing out the cobwebs with training drills.

The drills mimic bushfires in the Flinders Ranges with smoke canisters, observation planes and payloads of water.

What’s next?

The fire danger season has begun in much of the state and CFS personnel say they are expecting a "stock standard" season.
