Three arrests have been made in two separate incidents in regional South Australia, one in which a man allegedly lit a fire before throwing a rock at firefighters and another involving a car being discovered in flames after allegedly leaving a "trail of destruction" on a property.
Both incidents occurred on Sunday.
Police were called to the second incident, at Kanni in the state's Riverland region, after a red Subaru sedan was spotted parked between sheds.
The owners of the property approached the car, but the suspects, a man and a woman, "drove off at high speeds through paddocks, driving through fencing" and "leaving a trail of destruction behind them", police said.
Police allege that, after the residents began following them, the suspects "conducted a 180-degree turn" and drove "directly at the vehicle containing the occupants of the property".
"The vehicle narrowly missed the victims and was last seen travelling towards the Sturt Highway,"
police said.Patrols attempted to stop the car at Cobdogla but it "took off from police at speed" and was spotted at Monash about 8pm "before veering off into the scrub", police said.
After searching the area, police arrested a 28-year-old Valley View woman as well as the 35-year-old Berri man who had allegedly been driving the car, which was found about 500 metres away on fire.
Both were charged with property damage and being unlawfully on premises, while the man was also charged with failing to stop, driving disqualified, possessing a controlled drug and aggravated acts likely to cause harm.
Police said the man would appear in the Berri Magistrates Court.
Rock allegedly thrown at firefighters
In the earlier incident, police arrested a 51-year-old man after the Country Fire Service (CFS) was called to the scene of a grass fire along the riverbank at Murray Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
"As local CFS were extinguishing one fire, police received information of other fires being lit along the riverbank," police said.
Police searched the area and arrested the local man, who had allegedly attempted to run off, and charged him with lighting a fire during fire danger season, hindering police and disorderly behaviour.
Police also allege he threw a rock at CFS crews.
They said he would appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court.
