Man charged with arson over Glen Waverley and Mount Waverley sporting club fires

A man has been charged with setting two community sports clubhouses on fire in Melbourne's south-east, causing more than $4 million in damage.
The council facilities used by soccer, AFL and cricket clubs burnt down this year.
The first fire destroyed the Glen Waverley Soccer Club at Capital Reserve on April 16.
At the time the club's president said the fire had claimed all the team uniforms that were to be handed out to children days later.

Weekend Auskick clinics for children were held at the facility.
A fortnight later, club rooms on Mayfield Drive in Mount Waverley were engulfed in flames.
Overnight, police charged a 31-year-old Dandenong man with two counts of arson and two counts of car theft.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on November 7.
