Canberra man jailed for more than three years after attacking former partner with sword

The man was arrested in July last year after police arrived at his home and found him holding a sword with a 60-centimetre blade and a woman covered in blood.

The court heard the 48-year-old swung the sword, cutting the victim's chin. 

What's next

The man was sentenced to three years and three months in jail and will be eligible for parole in July next year.
